Helping Hands would like to thank United Way for the Southeast Day of Caring as a way to kick off their annual campaign. Helping Hands benefitted from it by getting a newly-painted floor. We want to thank Alaska Marine Lines for donating a container to store our equipment in for three days. Thanks to the UAS volunteers, Southeast Alaska Guidance Association and Helping Hands volunteers (Diane Haines, Karen Schanz, Tom Schriver and Martin Messing), for seeing this project through. Thanks also to Dominos Pizza for donating lunch for the workers. Thank you.

AWARE would like to thank the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation for its generous $5,000 donation, which will help in our mission to provide safe shelter and supportive services for women and children who have been subject to domestic or sexual violence. AWARE would be unable to provide these important services without the generosity and support of community agencies.
Founded in 1996 by Mary Kay Ash on the original precept of the company - to enrich the lives of women worldwide - the foundation provides financial donations to organizations serving women who are victims of violence. The grant to AWARE is one of 50 the Foundation will award this October in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
