JYFL hands out post-season honors
JUNEAU - The Juneau Youth Football League held its lower divisions (PeeWee, Junior, and Senior divisions) award ceremony last Sunday at Centennial Hall.
Awards and certificates were presented to all players and coaches. Special recognition was given to the Junior Division champion Broncos, led by head coach Eddie Brakes, and the Senior Division champion 49ers, led by head coach Rory Niere.
In addition, the Junior Division All-Star Football Team and Cheer Squad were recognized for their wonderful tournament with Kodiak earlier this month. The members of the Junior Division All-Star Football Team are: Chris Twomley, Jacob Scanlon, Hunter Wolfe, Junior Davidson, Brian Lauth, Alex Jones, Darian Bliss, Mike Fishel, Ben Roguska, Zach Madding, Paul Tupou, Davin Coffee, Jeff Wolfe, Silver Maake, Alex Fagerstrom, Justin Fairless, Lincoln Maka, Sean Rich, Beau Damian, Kurt Barry, Peter Erickson, Jack Perkins, Tony Malacas, Nathan Wilson and Lawrence Fenumiai
The Junior Division All-Star Cheer Squad includes: Ashley Gunderson, Kayla Roop, Kelsi Roop, Kayla Harris, Michele Ward and Lyndee Dowd.
The Senior Division All-Star Football Team and Cheer Squad were also introduced to the audience. The Senior Division football players did not know who had made the All-Star team until they were announced on Sunday, since JYFL was unable to get a team from elsewhere in the state to play in an All-Star game. The Senior Division All-Star Football Team includes: Devin Bliss, Garrett Cox, Carlo Ebron, Phillip Moser, Clinton Clark, Leonard Hill, Dylan Mores, Craig Reishus, Kanaan Bausler, Joe Kohan, Daryl Lew, Alex Robinson, Thomas Mason, Ian Blumenshine, Spencer Rotola, Robert Orr, Chris Hinkley, Adam Litke, Nico Saldivar, Nick Marthaller, Ryan Fagerstrom, Luther Riley, Musa Marenah, Landon Harris and Donovan Wilson.
The members of the Senior Division All-Star Cheer Squad are: Ellie Sica, Cari Knight, Heather Purves, Kayla Schauwecker, Tina Shilling, Anna Buchanan, Meagan Dayton, Margo Dowd, Kari Glass and Gabriela Chapa
The Junior Division and Senior Division All-Star cheer squads, as well as each PeeWee Division cheer squad, performed for the crowd at Sunday's ceremony.
