More expense

Letter to the editor

I just cannot believe how considerate of the politicians to time their thirst for more money just when my dollar is drastically shrinking due to inflation.

They want to take away my exemptions ("Seniors fight for continued tax exemption," Oct. 27 Empire) and add more taxes when I'm on a fixed income. Even though Exxon claims a billion dollars increase in profits, I do not expect the price of fuels to go down. They never have.

I can't go to the politicians because they are all going to jail pretty soon, maybe.

And when the city is looking for housing property, whatever happened to the north Douglas golf course property? How many years has that been tied up?

Very soon it will just be too expensive to retire here.
