Mt. Jumbo Gym Preschool Open Gym, Preschool open gym runs through April, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, in Douglas. Youths ages 1-6 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at a maximum ratio of 4:1. Play equipment, tumbling mats, tricycles, scooters and more are available. Please bring clean, dry shoes and a snack. There is a $1 fee per child, though adults are free with a paid child. Punch cards are available for purchase at the gym. Saturday, Oct. 31

Lifeguard class, Mandatory Pre-Course Session, 10:30 a.m., Augustus Brown Pool. You only need to attend and pass one. The pre-course consists of a 300 yrd swim (100 freestyle, 100 Breast Stroke, 100 either Free or Breast), and 10lb brick retrieval from deep water and swim it 20 yrds. Participants must be 15 years old before the end of the course and mus successfully complete the Pre-Course in order to take the lifeguard class. Taproot Yoga, instructor Christin Gelinas is inviting everyone to join her yoga practices in the valley this fall.
