Kmart location would make a great school

Am I the only person in Juneau that thinks that purchasing the Kmart property by Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School and turning it into a high school would be a great idea? Not only would it assist in easing the budget that it would take to create a new high school by offering up a developed property, but it's a great location, offers ample parking, room for a courtyard or track, and is already in a school zoned area. Just a thought.

Every day I drive by that huge empty lot and think of it. I was hoping it might be an idea that the rest of Juneau could contemplate for feasibility, and possibly propose to the school board and those interested in gaining more room for their high school students. I went to school at JDHS. That place was a madhouse during breaks in-between classes. I also went to high school in Oregon for a while and their schools are less crowded and less hurried, which makes for a nice atmosphere when you're trying to stay focused on your schoolwork.

I hope a few others pick up on this idea, or even imagine what it would be like to have a beautiful school in that spot instead of a monstrous empty ghostland of a parking lot. The space is there - use it.
