A pox on their houses

Letter to the editor

Posted: Sunday, October 31, 2004

Is it legal for a candidate's campaign or supporting party organization to send automated, prerecorded messages repeatedly per day to my telephone, without including the identity of the originating organization, or a contact telephone or web site, in the message?

If it isn't, it should be.

Some organization supporting Murkowski is doing just this, anonymously and repeatedly.

If this is being done by Murkowski's own campaign, then shame on you and a pox on your house.

If it is being done by another supporting organization, then a pox on both your houses.

The Tony Knowles for Senate campaign is not without fault either. I have asked them at least four times to not call me. I was told that my number would be removed from their list, yet calls from the Knowles campaign continue to come in. Either the Knowles campaign people are incompetent or they just don't care. In either case, a pox on your house too Tony.
