Author and poet N. Scott Momaday, 1969 Pulitzer Prize-winner for fiction, speaks at 7 p.m. Friday, at Egan Library at UAS, free, part of Evenings at Egan lecture series.

"The Bish's Bash," auction and benefit to support Perseverance Theatre's Bishop Michael Kenny Memorial Fund, 7 p.m. Saturday, Goldbelt Hotel, silent and outcry auction, entertainment, tickets $20 at Hearthside Books and at the door.

"Brave Birds of Winter," a program about birds that overwinter in the Juneau area, 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center, for kids ages 712, under 7 welcome with adult supervision, free.

Theater

"The Merry Wives of Windsor," 7:30 tonight through Sunday, runs Thursday-Sunday until Nov. 10, McPhetres Hall, presented by Theatre in the Rough. Tickets $14 in advance at Hearthside Books, $16 at the door, $8 for students and seniors and $6 for kids under 12.

"Noises Off," JuneauDouglas High School drama department fall comedy, opens at 7 p.m. Friday, also 7 p.m. Saturday, and runs Nov. 9 and 10 as well, at the JDHS auditorium. Tickets $8 students, $10 adults at Hearthside books

"The Winter's Tale," free preview 7:30 p.m. Sunday and pay as you can preview 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 8, opens Friday, Nov. 9, at Perseverance Theatre.

Dance

Juneau International Folk Dancers, 7:30 p.m. every Friday at Scottish Rite Temple. Instruction and request dancing, all welcome. Bring clean, soft-soled shoes.

EXHIBITS

"New Landscapes," paintings by Jim Fowler, art exhibit at the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council gallery, opens with a reception from 4:306:30 p.m. Friday, exhibit through Nov. 30.

"George Provost Solo Exhibition," photographs of Isle Royale, and Sonya KelliherCombs Solo Exhibition, multimedia works, exhibits at the Alaska State Museum, opens with a reception from 4:306:30 p.m. Friday, exhibit through Jan. 12.

A Yin Yang Thing: A Study in Sun and Ice, art exhibit of etchings, paintings and collages by Dianne Anderson, at the Big Picture at Lyle's Home Furnishings.
