KODIAK - A 53-year-old man was shot on a remote Kodiak Island village and Alaska State Troopers are investigating to determine whether charges should be filed.
The Kodiak Daily Mirror reports the incident took place early Wednesday morning at Uganik Bay near the Village Islands.
Troopers took a report that a man had been shot in the neck or chest and flew to the site by Coast Guard helicopter.
Investigators say the victim and 70-year-old Ronald Dunlap were drinking alcohol in a home when a physical altercation began and the other man was shot.
The wounded man was transported to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center, stabilized and flown to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage.
Dunlap was arrested on an unrelated misdemeanor arrest warrant.
