As the senate battle between Joe Miller, Lisa Murkowski and Scott McAdams heats up, it's becoming very clear to me that McAdams is the right person for that job. He grew up in Petersburg and has a firsthand connection with fishing. His background is drama-free, which in itself is quite refreshing.
If McAdams is elected, his fishing experience will be a big plus for many hardworking Alaskan families. Fishing is Alaska's number one renewable resource and Alaska's top job creator in the private sector.
McAdams is the only candidate that even questions the intelligence of placing one of the world's largest open pit mines in the middle of the world's largest and this state's most productive sockeye salmon spawning grounds.
McAdams is a breath of fresh air and a voice of reason in what's turning out to be a mud fight between two candidates who might as well both be named Joe.
