Former Juneau resident Christopher Denney died Oct. 26, 2004, in San Francisco, Calif., after a year-long illness.
He was born Dec. 13, 1956. He lived in Juneau in the 1980s for six years and worked at the Juneau Senior Center as a cook, and Beauty and the Feast as a cook. For the past fourteen years, he was a stagehand at the San Francisco Opera Company. His work for the San Francisco Opera Company gave him an appreciation for fine music.
He derived pleasure in cooking a gourmet meal for family and friends. His family says, "He was a gentle, kind man who will be missed by many."
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Denney.
He is survived by his father, Herbert Denney of Juneau; aunt, Patricia Denney of Juneau; brother, Hugh Denney of Manassas, Va.; sister, Anne Yedell of Marysville, Wash.; and five nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be on Oct. 29, 2004, at the Mater Delorsa in San Francisco. The burial will be in Everett, Wash.
