Friday, Nov. 5

• Roughhouse Friday boxing - Bouts start at 9 p.m. at Marlintini's Lounge. Tickets available at Marlintini's Lounge and at ANB Hall. Ten bouts are scheduled. Info: Marlintini's Lounge, 789-0799.

Friday-Sunday, Nov. 5-7

• Juneau Adult Hockey Association - Juneau Jamboree women's hockey tournament: Players are expected from Anchorage and the Yukon Territory for this jamboree-style event, the first women's hockey tournament in Juneau. Four games take place on Friday starting at 5:15 p.m.; eight games are on Saturday starting at 8 a.m.; and four more games take place on Sunday starting at 6:45 a.m. at Treadwell Arena in Douglas. This event requires players to register as individuals, then teams will be formed to mix locals and out-of-towners and to merge players of all skill levels onto each team. Saturday, Nov. 6

• Southeast Road Runners - Veterans Day 8K: The Southeast Road Runners' last race of the year starts at 10 a.m. (9 a.m. registration) from the Brotherhood Bridge parking lot and covers an out-and-back route on the Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei along the Mendenhall River. There will be long-sleeve T-shirts for the first 50 runners who register. Info: Mike McKrill, 789-9116.

• Juneau Ski Club/Juneau Ski Patrol 51st Annual Ski Sale - The annual fund-raiser takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Centennial Hall. Admission is $2 (age 12-younger free), and there is a door prize of a season pass from Eaglecrest Ski Area. In addition to the ski swap, people can register for Juneau Ski Patrol, the Juneau Ski Club race program and lessons at Eaglecrest, plus they can buy Eaglecrest season passes. People can check in items for sale ($5 minimum sale price per item) from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 4-5, and from 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. • Juneau Parks and Recreation adult basketball team managers meeting - Adult basketball team managers for the upcoming season are to meet at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, in the Assembly Chambers at City Hall. Schedules will be distributed at the meeting. One representative must be present for teams to receive credit for a bonus win, which will count toward the final standings. • Eaglecrest Snowsports School film - The group hosts the 55th annual Warren Miller film, "Impact," at 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, at Centennial Hall. Tickets are $8 at the door. This year's film features skiing and snowboarding scenes from around the world, including Bulgaria, France, Canada and the United States. Scenes from Alaska were shot near Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, in the Wrangell-St. Elias Mountains and around Cordova. Info: Eaglecrest Snowsports School, 790-2001.

• Raincountry Flyfishers meeting - The club meets from 7-9 p.m. on the first and third Thursday each month at the Mendenhall River School library. The program for the Nov. 4 meeting features Tom Morphet discussing the new federal subsistance regulations and their effect on the Juneau road system fisheries. Info: Mark Vinsel, 586-3424.

• Juneau Parks and Recreation Women's Classic Basketball League skills clinic - A clinic for Women's Classic Basketball League players will be held Monday, Nov. 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Gastineau Elementary School gymnasium. Info: Juneau Parks and Rec, 586-5226.



• Mount Jumbo preschool open gym - Preschool open gyms for children ages 1-6 and an adult parent or caregiver take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through April. There must be at least one adult present for every four kids. There is a $1 per child fee, or punchcards for $10 and $50 can be bought at the gym, which is located at 909 4th Street in Douglas. Tricycles, mats, balls, a Little Tykes climber, building blocks and a kid-sized basketball hoop are available. • Recreational badminton - Auke Bay group: This group meets from 8-10 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at the Auke Bay Community School gym.
