Fairbanks author Miller to visit libraries

Miller to speak at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, and at 3 p.m. on Nov. 6

Fairbanks-area author, naturalist and photographer Debbie Miller will visit the Juneau Public Libraries on Nov. 5-6 to discuss her writing and research on Alaska's environment.

She will appear at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at the downtown library to present her program about the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Miller has written three books about the area: "Midnight Wilderness: Journeys in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge," "Audubon Guide to the National Wildlife Refuges" and "Arctic Refuge: A Circle of Testimony."

At 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, Miller will meet with school children at the Valley Library. Her creative nonfiction books include: "Disappearing Lake" (which was on the Battle on the Books List this year), "Flight of the Golden Plover...," "A Caribou Journey," "A Polar Bear Journey" and "River of Life."
