ANCHORAGE - An Alaska man with nine convictions for drunken driving has been charged a 10th time after he was accused of causing a chain-reaction collision at a stop light.
Anchorage police said 46-year-old Donald Benedix ran into the back of a line of three vehicles at a red traffic light on Oct. 23, causing them to collide.
Three people were injured and treated at hospitals, including one person with a head injury.
Police said Wednesday that Benedix was also charged with assault and driving while his license was revoked.
In addition to his previous convictions for driving while intoxicated, police said Benedix had 14 convictions for driving with a suspended license.
