"Chicken Little," (G) **

Synopsis: Lots of pop-tune montages stretch this thinner-than-thin comedy about a chicken who thinks the sky is falling into a kid-friendly 78 minutes.

"The Constant Gardener," (R) ***1/2

"A History of Violence," (R) ***1/2

Synopsis: A mobster believes an easygoing family man to be a former hit man. The film raises compelling questions about the nature of violence.

"Jarhead," (R) **1/2

Synopsis: An adaptation of Gulf War veteran Anthony Swofford's memoir, it's a movie about a generation of soldiers who grew up watching war movies.

"Last Days" (R) **

Where: Gold Town Nickelodeon. Times: Friday, 7, 9:15 p.m.; Saturday, 7, 9:15 p.m.; Sunday, 4, 7 p.m.

Synopsis: Officially, the movie isn't about the last days of Kurt Cobain, but the main character is a morose rocker who smells a lot like teen spirit.

"The Tangerine Dream," 6 p.m. (all ages) and 8:30 p.m. (21 and over), Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Hangar Ballroom. Benefit for Bill Forrest. $10 at the ski sale or at the door.

"The Sinking of the Princess Sophia," 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum. Introduction by John Lachelt 30 minutes before each presentation.

Synopsis: A film by Jim Jarmusch, Don Johnston (Bill Murray) loses a girlfriend but finds out he might have a 19-year-old son. Also stars Julie Delpy, Sharon Stone and Jessica Lange.

Synopsis: Keira Knightley plays the real-life Domino Harvey, the daughter of a famous actor who was a supermodel, junkie and bounty hunter.

Synopsis: The Rock stars in this home computer game that's been adapted to the big screen.

"North Country," (R) ***

Synopsis: Charlize Theron plays a single mother who returns home to work in the iron mines of northern Minnesota. Also stars Frances McDormand.

"Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit," (G) ***1/2

Synopsis: Wallace and his superintelligent pooch, Gromit, must defend a village from lettuce-snarfing bunnies in this delightful clay-animated adventure.
