Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Thefts:
Police arrested a boy, 15, for shoplifting and sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, at 1:07 p.m. Monday near West Willoughby Avenue. He was transported to the police station and released to a parent.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
Police arrested a woman, 31, for domestic violence criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, at 7:18 p.m. Monday in the Lemon Creek area. She was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
Vehicle accidents:
No one was cited following a two-vehicle accident at 12:06 p.m. Monday near Glacier Avenue. A 1997 Subaru, driven by a man, 50, was struck by a 1987 Chevy Blazer while it was parked. The Subaru sustained $1,000 in damage while the Blazer sustained no damage. The drivers exchanged information.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported Monday at 10:10 p.m. near Nancy Street and Hayes Way and today at 12:49 a.m. near West Willoughby Avenue.
