ANCHORAGE - The Anchorage School District has to cut $15 million to balance the $800 million budget for the next school year.
Superintendent Carol Comeau told The Anchorage Daily News everything is on the table. Teaching positions could be cut and class sizes might increase.
The final budget proposal goes to the city assembly in March.
The assembly has said it will not raise property taxes and will let the district levy only the same amount of taxes it did this year, about $192 million.
Local taxes pay about 30 percent of the district's general fund budget. The majority of the other money comes from the state, with a small percentage coming from the federal government.
