Start with slower speed limits

There was a public discussion on the problem of Loop Rood and Stephen Richards at Glacier Valley School, and during the meeting lots of issues with the intersection came about.

DOT mentioned that one day Loop Road would be four lanes. It seems logical to take that skywalk and make it bike friendly, and add lighting so people (kids) could use it during winter hours and enjoy the safety it would bring for many during all seasons. The crossing of that intersection could be discontinued and parents could once again feel comfortable about letting their kids go to school, or go and visit a friend.

The cost of safety for kids and general public should not be an issue. A short-term and money-friendly fix would be to slow traffic in the area so that kids on bikes can make it to another day of school.
