After surviving a pair of epic five-game matches against Ketchikan on Saturday, the Juneau-Douglas High School volleyball team found out its state quarterfinal opponent on Monday.

The Southeast Conference champion Crimson Bears (9-3) will take on Dimond (15-2) in the first-round of the Alaska School Activities Association State Volleyball Championships at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at West Anchorage High School.
The Lynx finished second in the Cook Inlet Conference. Two-time defending state champions South Anchorage (16-1) won the conference and will face Wasilla (7-9).

In the other quarterfinals, Colony (14-3) will take on West Valley (12-1), while Palmer (13-1) battles Eagle River (11-7).
The JDHS/Dimond winner will face either West Valley or Colony in Friday's semifinal.
In the 3A tournament, Southeast Conference champion Mount Edgecumbe will take on Delta Junction at 2 p.m. Thursday. The winner of that game will face either Valdez or Anchorage Christian in the semifinals.
Southeast Conference runner-up Petersburg will take on Grace Christian at 7:15 p.m. Thursday. The winner of that match will take on either Nikiski or two-time defending state champs Cordova in the semifinals on Friday.
