I wonder when people will start realizing that when the state does not have enough income to run government, it must do the same thing that you and I must to keep our checkbook balanced. We start depriving ourselves of things we can probably do without. I think we should insist that our governments do the same until we can find ways to increase our coffers.
Alaskans have overwhelmingly spoken for change. Gov.-elect Murkowski has asked that he be given a chance. Let's give him the proper time and see what happens. We have witnessed this time and time again in Congress - when one party does not perform we, as good citizens, exercise the American way and make changes. Alaska did that during this election. Now it is our job to sit back and watch. Given ample time, if things don't go right, then we can stand up and say, "I told you so."
