Dzantik'i Heeni kids take to yoga

Guest instructor puts students through paces of an unusual phys-ed course, one of several out-of-the-ordinary classes offered

Below, left and right, Sturm leads a large class through stretching and breathing exercises. DZ Middle School brings in one or two guest instructors each month to give sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students something different in their physical education classes.

The classes are an hour-and-a-half long and involve about 140 students. Classes in karate, boating safety, CPR, first aid and Native Youth Olympics have been offered.
