... thanks for the spooktacular support!
On Oct. 31, members of the Juneau-Douglas High School Student Council set out to "trick-or-treat" for canned foods in the valley area. Our goal for the evening was 200, but to our amazement, we were able to raise 486 cans for a local charity.
On behalf of the JDHS Student Council, we would like to thank the community of Juneau, especially the valley particually in this event, for supporting Juneau's kids.

...for your time.
Thank you to all the fine folks who helped put on our recent Senior Health Fair.
Especially, we would like to thank United Way and the Juneau Empire for their donation of ads, which attracted many people to come. Also, to KINY, KTOO and The Scanner for airing our information.
There were many exhibitors and health professionals who donated their time and talents to help ensure seniors' good health.
I was most impressed by how smoothly it all went, thanks to Valerie O'Hare of Alaska Health Fair Inc. and her crew of volunteers. The volunteers from Mountainview Apartments helped direct participants. Forty-six people had blood tests and many more had hearing, glaucoma, blood pressure and other tests performed.
If the Health Fair saved one life, or made one person take better care of themselves, it was worth all the work.
