Local actor Roblin Gray Davis to teach theater workshop

JUNEAU - Local actor Roblin Gray Davis will showcase his theater techniques for building literacy and science experiences in a free workshop for teachers from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center.

This workshop introduces the elements of theater, dramatic writing and performance through ensemble-building exercises, expressive movement, artistic transposition of observation and presentation. Providing opportunities for profound imaginative play in a theatrical ensemble gives students permission to explore and express their unique creative impulses while learning how to collaborate. Research reveals that meaningful exposure to the arts increases the learning potential for all students. Engaging in theatre arts builds confidence, develops cooperation and ignites enthusiasm for learning.

Snacks and coffee will be available. For more information, contact Davis at 523-9070 or r@roblingray.net.
