Thunder Mountain Riders 4-H Club will offer three beginning horsemanship classes this fall and winter. The first round will be held Nov. 13-14, followed by classes on Jan. 15-16 and March 12-13.
Thunder Mountain Riders 4-H Club is a youth group dedicated to horse education, competition and having fun. Each year, the group provides pony rides and beginning riding lessons to fund a trip to Canada with horses, parents and kids.
Beginning horsemanship is geared toward 6- to 10-year-old children and is taught by 4-H members ages 9-18. All lessons are supervised by a skilled adult horseman. Each 2-hour sessions is broken into three 40 minute sections: riding, grooming/education and caring. The cost is $75 for the weekend or $50 for either day. Helmets will be provided. Children can be dropped off at Swampy Acres with boots, long pants and appropriate layered clothing. Please e-mail tmr4-h@hotmail.com or call 321-3222 to register or for more information.
