KENAI - A Wasilla couple died in a head-on collision Saturday on the Kenai Peninsula.
The Peninsula Clarion reports 68-year-old Paul J. Trissell and 55-year-old Pamela A. Trissell were killed in the crash shortly after 10 a.m. near Mile 18 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski.
Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen says the Trissells were in Nikiski for a church event.
With Paul Trissell at the wheel, they had pulled out of a church parking lot in their small sport utility vehicle and driven 200 to 300 feet when the crash occurred.
Ipsen says a semi heading north crossed the centerline and crashed into the SUV.
Paul Trissell died on scene. Pamela Trissell was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital and pronounced dead at 12:48 p.m.
The truck driver, 35-year-old Clifford Henderson of Anchorage, was not hurt.
