Juneau Parks and Recreation Saturday hike: Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Point Bridget Trailhead, Mile 39, for a moderate, 8.5-mile hike to Cedar Lake. The group will return via the North Bridget Cove Beach Access, Mile 37.5. Wear waterproof hiking or rubber boots, warm layers of clothing and bring plenty of food and water. Juneau Parks and Recreation adult basketball managers meeting: Meet at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the CBJ Assembly Chambers. One representative from each team must be present in order to receive a victory that counts toward the final standings. Schedules will be distributed at the meeting. Holiday Cup 2000 soccer registration: The Holiday Cup competitive indoor soccer tournament will be held over the holiday break, from Dec. 21-31. There are four coed divisions -- Elementary, for players age 9 through the fifth grade; Middle School, for grades 6-8; Juniors, for high school students age 16-younger; and Seniors, for players age 17-21. Roster forms, rules and player waivers will be available by Nov. 8 at area schools and the law offices of Dillon and Findley, 350 North Franklin. Team registration is due by Nov. 24. 4-H Fishing Club: A new 4-H fishing club will begin meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Floyd Dryden Middle School to teach youngsters in grades 3-12 how to fish. The club, which will meet every Tuesday night, will also teach the children how to tie fishing flies, how to read a fishing stream and how to know where fish will feed or hide. The program will be led by Jon Lyman of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. There is a $6 fee to join 4-H, and a small fee to cover materials used in the club. Youth open gyms: Saturdays (11/11, 11/18 and 11/25) from 8-11 p.m. at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School, and Fridays (11/10 is cancelled, but will be held 11/17 and 11/24) from 8-11 p.m. at Floyd Dryden Middle School. No cost for students grades 5-12. Adult volleyball/basketball open gyms, at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School: Cost is $4.
