Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Drunken driving:

• Stanley Stauffer, 24, was arrested at 3 a.m. Saturday near Mendenhall Boulevard on a drunken-driving charge. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional center.

Vehicle accidents:

• A man, 19, was cited on a charge of failing to maintain a safe distance, after an accident at 1:10 p.m. Thursday at Main Street and Front Street. A 1985 Dodge Colt struck a 1988 Chevy Astro. Both vehicles sustained less than $500 in damage.

• An accident involving two Toyotas at the Egan Drive retaining wall was reported at about noon Friday. Combined damage was $3,500.

• A 1985 Dodge Colt was struck by a 1997 Jeep Cherokee at 6 p.m. Friday near Valley Boulevard. The Cherokee driver was cited on a charge of failure to yield. The Colt had $1,500 damage, and the Cherokee had $2,500 damage.

• A 1992 Mazda left the North Douglas Highway roadway at 10 p.m. Friday and rolled over. The driver, from Petersburg, was uninjured. The Mazda had $7,500 damage.

Hit and run:

• A woman reported at 4:59 p.m. Thursday that her 1999 Volkswagen Jetta was struck by an unknown vehicle while parked on Sixth Street.


• At 9:24 p.m. Thursday, a black BMX-style bicycle was reported stolen between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. near Amalga Street. It was valued at $150.

• A man reported at 4:45 p.m. Friday near Lemon Creek the theft of a medical bag containing supplies.

• A store on Glacier Highway in the Mendenhall Valley reported at 11:45 a.m. Saturday that $200 had been stolen from the till.

Disorderly conduct:

• Police arrested a man, 35, on a disorderly-conduct charge at 11:54 p.m. Thursday at Douglas Highway and John Street. The man was lodged at the state prison.

• A man, 20, was arrested at 11 p.m. Friday near 10th Street on charges of disorderly conduct, interfering with a police officer, resisting arrest and underage drinking. He was lodged at the state prison.

Lost property:

• At 11:07 a.m. Friday, a woman reported a violin had been lost near Glacier Avenue.

Found property:

• A black tri-fold wallet was turned in to police at 4:03 p.m. Thursday and placed in safekeeping.


• A man reported at 9 p.m. Friday near Renninger Street that his Subaru Forester's back window had been smashed.


• A black bear sow and cub were reported near Glacier Highway at 4:45 p.m. Friday. The sow made some aggressive lunges and left the area, the caller said.
