Sound off on the important issues at

CORDOVA - Alaska State Troopers say the body of a commercial fisherman who went missing in September has been found.

Troopers say the body of Molalla, Oregon, resident Stephan Reutov was discovered by two hunters this weekend on Hinchinbrook Island near Cordova in Prince William Sound.

The 36-year-old man was alone on the boat when it was lost at sea near Egg Island.

Troopers say they don't suspect foul play in Reutov's death.

Man dies after being stabbed in torso

ANCHORAGE - A man died after he was stabbed Wednesday in an apartment building in the neighborhood of Mountain View.

The man, identified as Hoxie Nelson, 45, emerged from the building and called out for help before collapsing, witnesses said.

He later died at a local hospital, Anchorage police said.

Nelson appeared to have been stabbed in the torso inside the apartment by a man whom he may have known, said police Lt. Paul Honeman.

"He did get in the apartment and was causing some trouble for the guy inside," Honeman said.

Justina Reed, a neighbor, said she called police after seeing Nelson stumble out of the building.

"He was screaming, 'I need help. I've been stabbed,' " Reed said. "He was standing up, holding his stomach, then he fell down and hit his head on the railing."
