Juneau's Rhea scores 14 points in OSU debut

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Ashley Allen scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Oregon State University to a 73-64 win over Cal Poly in the season opener for both teams.
Allen, a senior guard, made the first shot of the game - a 3-pointer - and the Beavers, who shot 50 percent from 3-point range, never trailed against the Mustangs.
Freshman guard Talisa Rhea, a 2007 Juneau-Douglas High School graduate, came off the bench to score 18 points for Oregon State, including four 3-pointers, in her first game.
Junior forward Lisa McBride didn't start for Cal Poly, but had 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting and seven rebounds.
Egolf plays first game in Bradley loss
Juneau - Will Egolf saw four minutes of action on Saturday as Bradley University opened the regular season with an 84-75 loss to host University of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday.
Egolf didn't take a shot in four minutes off the bench.
Jeremy Crouch led the Braves with a 19 points while Daniel Ruffin added 14 points and Andrew Warren scored 12 points for the Braves.
Flames guard Josh Mayo led all players with 34 points, including three 3-pointers.
Tori Boyd scored 11 points and Spencer Stewart added 10 points for UIC.
Bradley makes its home debut Wednesday against Iowa State.
