ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage woman out on bail from a March arrest for driving under the influence has been jailed following a car crash in which a man was killed and woman critically injured.
Prosecutors said 55-year-old Lori Phillips has four DUIs on her record and was out on bail with the condition that she neither drink nor drive.
On Thursday, she was behind the wheel of an SUV that collided head-on with a Toyota sedan.
The driver of the Toyota was killed; he has yet to be named because police have been unable to contact his relatives. A passenger in the sedan, 29-year-old Joyua Stovall, remains hospitalized.
Phillips has been jailed for violating the terms of her bail. She has yet to be charged in Thursday's crash.
