Posted: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

ANCHORAGE - A rash of crashes accompanied Anchorage's first snowfall.

Police said late Monday they had responded to more than 60 accidents and dozens of other vehicles in distress. At least six of the crashes resulted in minor injuries.

The snowfall dropped one to six inches across Anchorage.

The record for the latest first measurable snow is Nov. 13, 2002, so it was almost a record-breaking year.
