(As you've probably figured out, messages printed here don't necessarily reflect the opinion of the Empire.)
I think drivers in Juneau have the yellow light rule confused. Your first option is to stop if you can do so in a safe and timely fashion. It is not speeding up 20 mph to try to beat the light.
There is no litter at the Pipeline, where the young adults meet. It is very clean. Good for them.
The people in Palm Beach County are giving we Democrats a bad name. They're acting like spoiled children who want to change the rules. The time to challenge the legality of the butterfly ballot was before the election.
As recently as 1996, elections in the Miami-Dade metro area have been thrown out and re-done by court order due to mismanagement and fraud. The stakes are too high, the difference between Gore and Bush too great to risk the wrong president.
I resent the Empire's bashing of the Electoral College. If anybody's going to get steamrolled if we do away with the Electoral College it will be all the states except New York and California. Do we want them deciding every presidential election?
I think Al Gore should challenge the election purely to put the current voting system on trial due to us not voting in a president but an electoral group of people voting in a president.
Our government is a representative republic. Mrs. Clinton is a constitutional illiterate. We're not in a democracy.
Mandate? Clinton only had 39 percent when he was elected. If Bush or Gore is elected they will be able to run this country just fine without having a majority.
For those of us with common sense, there will be no tears shed for Ramona Barnes failing to win re-election to the Alaska House.
Regarding the boombox noise late at night, there is an ordinance on the books if we can get the police to enforce it.
Anyone who voted no on 5 voted no on freedom.
I enjoy the conservative slant on AM630. There are plenty of other radio stations, including the Public Broadcasting System. I think one conservative station is balanced by all the other stations that are available.
For those who think an alternative is needed to the conservative radio talk shows here, you already have one. Just watch or listen to any of the mainstream media and you'll get your liberal slant.
With its all right-wing programming all the time, perhaps KJNO should change its call sign to KRNC.
