Favorite outdoor activities: Snowboarding, hiking, playing soccer, dirt bike riding.

Snowboarding accomplishments: Won the Big Air Competition, Eaglecrest (1999); Local Snowboarding Championship in Valdez (2001 and 2002); second place boardercross at Mammoth (2003); third place Mt. Baker Banked Slalom (2006).

Snowboarding highlights: "Some of the best times I've had have been hiking the Eaglecrest backcountry; that's been a lot of fun. Also hellying in the mountain ranges around here, like behind McGinnis and Stroller White. But hands down the best times I've ever had riding were at Mt. Baker (in Washington). Inbounds and out-of-bounds and the clifflines that are accessible by the chairlift are ridiculous. Most of my riding highlights are awesome powder days. Even riding the regular runs at Eaglecrest, there's just so much good stuff everywhere, you just gotta find it."

Close call: "I've had my share of concussions. I dislocated my hip when I was a sophomore. I went off a jump. I went too high and too far and fell smack on my hip. And then one of the scariest times was hellying, maybe three seasons ago where I was on the backside of McGinnis. I went off a cornice and kneed myself in the face and knocked myself unconscious and went sliding down the hill in a small slough."
