FAIRBANKS - A report in Stars and Stripes said three Fort Wainwright soldiers serving in Iraq were injured Sunday when they entered a booby-trapped house.
Their names have not been released.
The three were on patrol in the Diyala province. They entered a house and were injured by an explosion. The soldiers were flown to Balad, Iraq, for treatment and were listed as stable.
The soldiers are part of the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. About 4,200 soldiers from Interior Alaska deployed to Iraq in September.
The incident was the second that caused significant casualties.
One soldier died Oct. 16 and another was fatally injured when a forward operating base in Baqouba was attacked. Several other soldiers were injured.
