JUNEAU - Art and nature fans are invited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Izembek National Wildlife Refuge this week with a photo exhibit and artist's reception from 5-7 p.m. tonight at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center.

The evening will include short presentations on the history and wildlife of Izembek Refuge. In addition, Bob "Sea Otter" Jones, a charismatic key figure in establishing the Refuge, will speak.

The event is free to the public, and refreshments will be served.

Izembek Refuge is the smallest Alaskan refuge, and contains Izembek Lagoon, which is a critical destination for a myriad of migratory birds.
