ANCHORAGE - A young man convicted of beating a homeless man to death will be sentenced Friday in Anchorage.

Marc Ewing was convicted of second-degree murder in the July 2009 death of 37-year-old James Lockery. The homeless man was found dead inside a sleeping bag in a city park.

Police say Lockery's body was found in an area near Centennial Park known as a homeless camp. Court documents say Ewing and another teen took $7 and a case of beer from Lockery before attacking him.
