Did the Peace and Quiet Coalition agree to the no-taping policy or not?
The word democracy encompasses a lot of different forms of government, representative republic being one of them.
I went to the Veterans Day remembrance ceremony Saturday morning. I find it very interesting that Gov. Tony Knowles was the only elected official there. Rosalee Walker and Mark Farmer were there but they don't hold elective office. There was not one single local elected official at the ceremony. I bet if Veterans Day were before the election, dozens of politicians would have been there. Please, don't forget our veterans.
I couldn't bring myself to vote for passage of the marijuana initiative. I think if they raised the minimum smoking age from 18 to 21 I could have voted for it. The people behind the initiative should consider that and try again.
I would like to know if anyone knows what happened to my malamute that got hit by a vehicle on Sunday on Montana Creek Road. Call 586-9849 if you saw it or if you hit the dog.
I'm a veteran and I've lived in town for a long time. I was at the Veterans Day celebration at the armory. What is sad is that Tony Knowles was there - and that is a good thing - but the only local politicians there were Rosalee Walker and Mark Farmer. The assembly members don't even care about older people or vets and it made me ashamed. Next time none of those people will get my support.
I would like to see some pedestrian overpasses installed at the Fred Meyer and Mapco intersections.
Too bad the Korean veterans weren't honored here in Juneau like they were in Anchorage where they were given medals at their ceremony for Veterans Day.
This presidential race was not even close. George Bush won. These tricks that Al Gore is pulling today, the Democrats have pulled them for years.
Hunters and Fish and Game who allow hunting in residential areas are telling our children that it's OK to discharge weapons in the city limits.
