Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Driving while intoxicated:
• Leanna Williams, 19, and Joseph Allen Wasowicz, 23, were both arrested for drunken driving at 3:52 a.m. today near South Franklin Street at the Marine View parking garage. Though Wasowicz was driving the vehicle, police said, Williams also was charged with drunken driving for allegedly allowing Wasowicz to drive drunk. Wasowicz also was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to a chemical breath test. They were lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Assaults:
• Police arrested a man, 30, for domestic violence assault at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday in the Douglas area. He was lodged at the state prison. Police believe alcohol was a factor.
• Police arrested a man, 40, for assault at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday near Third Street downtown. Police believe alcohol was a factor. The man was lodged at the state prison.
Thefts:
• About 200 CDs and other personal items were reported stolen from a vehicle near Thunder Mountain Road at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday. The value of the items was more than $3,000.
• About 25 CDs and as well as papers were reported stolen at 6:50 a.m. today from a vehicle near Thunder Mountain Road. The items are valued at $375.
Underage drinking:
• Police cited and released a girl, 20, for underage drinking at 1:15 a.m. today near Sandy Beach.
Vehicle accidents:
• Police cited a man, 18, for failure to maintain a safe distance following a two-vehicle accident involving a school bus at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on Glacier Avenue. A 1987 Honda Civic, driven by the man, rear-ended a 1996 school bus, driven by a woman, 46. No one was injured. The Civic sustained $1,200 damage and the bus had no damage.
• No one was injured during a one-vehicle rollover accident at 9:12 p.m. Tuesday near Engineer's Cutoff. A 2001 Honda, driven by a man, 42, rolled into a ditch at the side of the road. The vehicle sustained $13,000 in damage and appeared totaled. The man was cited for careless driving.
Animal encounters:
• A bear was reported at 11:42 p.m. Tuesday near Mendenhall Loop Road.
