Soul Street Dance Company can be enjoyed live at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Juneau-Douglas High School auditorium.
Soul Street brings the rhythmic sophistication of Debussy, Vivaldi and even B.B. King toe-to-toe with hip-hop styles and break dance bravado. This four-member, all-male dance company knows how to move from their knuckles all the way down to their toes. Fusing hip-hop styles of breakin', poppin' and lockin' with modern dance and a spark of theatrical flair, Soul Street's comic delivery and sheer physicality are a hit with audiences of all ages.
The concert is presented by the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council and sponsored by University of Alaska Southeast. Tickets are available at Hearthside Books, Rainy Retreat Books, online at www.jahc.org, or by calling the council at 586-ARTS (2787).
Refreshments at intermission support Juneau Dance Unlimited.
