Wagoner leaves state for medical treatment

KENAI - The Alaska state senator representing much of the Kenai Peninsula is in California for medical treatment.

Kenai Republican Tom Wagoner entered Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of an undisclosed condition.

Wagoner's office said he expects to be out of Alaska for eight weeks.

Wagoner said he expects a full recovery because the condition was caught early.

Wagoner's daughter and son-in-law live near Loma Linda.

Wagoner was re-elected to a four-year term Nov. 4.
