Domestic partners deserve benefits

Kudos to the City and Borough of Juneau for their recent move to offer health insurance to domestic partners of city employees. Unmarried couples who either choose not to marry or cannot legally marry pay city taxes, own property, have children in the schools, volunteer in our community and should be afforded the same benefits as their married counterparts. Many thanks to the folks who worked to add this to the city health care policy.
