ANCHORAGE - A robber bound a 78-year-old Anchorage man in his home and stole coins, money and a camera.
Anchorage police said the suspect knocked on the man's door at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and asked to use a phone. The homeowner let him in and gave the suspect coffee.
The suspect pretended he was leaving and grabbed the man from behind. He either handcuffed or taped his hands.
The suspect spent 25 minutes going through the house before uncuffing the victim and leaving with stolen items.
The suspect was a dark-skinned man with a slender build in his early 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, and 140 pounds. Police say he may have been Hispanic.
He wore a green shirt with a tie, black dress gloves, and black lace-up oxfords. He was carrying a backpack.
