John Eric Wood passed away in his sleep at home on Nov. 11, 2010 from complications with malignant melanoma.
John was born on July 26, 1964 at the old St. Ann's hospital. He graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School, Helena Vocational Technical School and the University of Alaska Southeast. John started his own construction company (O'Rourke Construction) in 1995 and served as the President of Southeast Alaska Building Industry Association for the past three years.
John led a true Alaskan life - he enjoyed fishing, trapping and hunting. John loved his family, work, Catholic faith and all the Juneau area had to offer. He is survived by his three children, Sara, Zeeba and Cheyenne; wife, Mahnaz and her relatives; parents Ronald and Mary Ann; sister Karla; aunts and uncles, and all the friends he met along the way on his path to heavenly life. There will be a funeral mass at St. Paul's Catholic Church at 6 p.m. Monday. A reception will follow at the Parish Hall.
