BETHEL - A Moravian Church pastor in Bethel has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor, striking a deal with prosecutors that drops all counts but one.

The Tundra Drums reports 52-year-old Carlie Ekamrank originally faced five counts of sex-abuse of a minor, but pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

The deal must still be approved by a judge in a hearing scheduled for early 2011. Ekamrank faces five years in prison.

The victim was a 12-year-old girl.

Ekamrank was a top official in the Moravian Church in Alaska before the case began in June. He had served as pastor in Bethel.
