Thanks for putting education first
As co-chairs of the Education First Committee, we want to thank the more than 114,000 Alaskans who voted for Proposition C. This issue was not only about maintaining school facilities; it was also a measure of the value we place on education and the future of our youth. Maintaining and improving our schools and the university system allows us to cultivate the talents of our best and brightest - in turn making Alaska's future brighter.
Passage of Proposition C is proof that Alaskans mean it when they say education is the highest priority. Decent and safe facilities don't guarantee quality education; but quality education is almost impossible without them.
Thanks, too, to all the Alaskans who wrote letters and newspaper columns, and those worked behind the scenes in support of Proposition C.
