The 2002 free Women's Health Forum is scheduled for 11:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Centennial Hall. A free lunch will be served. There will be two guest speakers and it is being produced by local SEARHC physician Dr. Maureen Longworth. Bartlett dietician Linda Wild will present a cancer prevention diet.
Bartlett Regional Hospital, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, State of Alaska-Division of Public Health, Bartlett Foundation, SEARHC Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, Southeast Alaska Cancer and Wellness Foundation, Alaska Women's Run, and Alaska Health Fair, Inc. are sponsoring the event.
A University of Washington breast oncologist will talk about breast cancer prevention and treatment. A women's health-preventive medicine specialist will talk about post-menopausal hormone replacement therapy and alternatives. Question and answer sessions will be included.
