Former Juneau resident Melissa Campbell and Mark Anderson of Issaquah, Wash., were married Aug. 27 in a ceremony on the University of Washington campus in Seattle.
She is the daughter of Richard and Carol Campbell of Renton, Wash. After leaving Juneau in 2000 and spending a year in Venezuela, she returned to Seattle where she completed high school. She will graduate in spring of 2006 from the University of Washington with a degree in history and a minor in Southeast Asian studies.
He is the son of Charles and Jane Anderson of Issaquah. He graduated from Eastside Catholic High School where he met Melissa. He is majoring in microbiology at the University of Washington, where he is also employed as an assistant in the genetics lab.
The maid of honor was Linda (Lou) Taylor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Hern and Madeline Kennedy. The best man was Doug Barnum. Groomsmen were Eric Hern and Brent Lyons.
The flower girls were Addison Hern, Mackenzie Campbell, Katie Kennedy, Abigail Anderson and Emma Anderson. Readers were Paiton Campbell and Nicholas Hern. The ring bearer was Joseph Kennedy.
Special guests from Juneau were Guo Hua Xia, Ren DeCherney, Franz Felkl and Hunter Brown, a string quartet that provided music for the ceremony. Nancy DeCherney assisted the musicians.
The couple will make their home in Seattle while deciding upon graduate studies.
