Longtime Juneau resident Harold Richard Hogberg died Nov. 12, 2002, at his home in Juneau.
Hogberg lived in Juneau for nearly 30 years, after moving his family here in 1973 upon retiring from 20 years of service as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as the maintenance foreman for the state Legislative Affairs Agency.
He was an avid enthusiast of ham radio operation, fishing, scuba diving and sailing. Family and friends said he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who always was willing to help people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and June Hogberg.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years, Pat Hogberg, Juneau; sons Olan "Skip" Hogberg, Las Vegas, Nev., and Steve Hogberg and wife Toni, Milton, Wash.; daughters Cindy Evans and husband Gordon, Sherry Garrison and husband Dave, and Misti Hogberg and Bill Lawrence, Juneau; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Alaskan Memorial Park Mortuary, 3839 Riverside Drive.
