Gov. Sean Parnell has re-appointed Robert Peterson of Juneau to the Alaska Safety Advisory Council.
Peterson has been the Southeast Alaska district representative for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302 since 2006. Previously he was the street maintenance supervisor for the City of Fairbanks and has spent 20 years as a journeyman heavy equipment mechanic and operator around Alaska.
The council seeks to reduce the risks of accidental death and injury, and advises the governor and Legislature on state safety policy.
Peterson was first appointed in January, and now is appointed to a full term on the council.
