FAIRBANKS - An Alaska man is facing a misdemeanor reckless endangerment charge after he was accused of covering a cab driver's eyes in Fairbanks while the taxi was traveling at 50 mph.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that 27-year-old Jason Kenneth Capen of Fairbanks also allegedly threatened to kill the driver and dump his body in the woods.

According to charging documents, Capen was intoxicated when he got a ride from Arctic Taxi last Thursday night.

Earlier last week, another rider was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment after allegedly grabbing the steering wheel and coat of a Yellow Cab driver in Fairbanks, causing brief loss of control of the taxi.

Alaska state troopers say 39-year-old Edward Warner Smagge also was intoxicated.
