No illegal stops on Douglas

Letters to the editor

Posted: Thursday, November 18, 2004

I am making a plea for the Douglas drivers not to stop for North Douglas drivers who are legally at a stop sign before entering out on traffic.

Each morning at 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. those who stop illegally to let the North Douglas drivers out onto the traffic lane are creating a long line of drivers from the Douglas Highway that extends to downtown Douglas. I can see school buses that have the right to stop to pick up students along the highway.

You are stopping illegally to let out North Douglas drivers and you can cause an unnecessary accident. You need to consider the legal and safe precautions before stopping mile-long traffic that is deemed unnecessary. Or have the borough of Juneau put in a traffic light to let out North Douglas drivers onto the highway legally.

Think before you stop illegally.
